About Lori Gailey

Lori Gailey's MotherMy mother taught me to sew when I was about 10-years-old and though I really didn’t like it at first, by high school I was making my clothes and working in the fabric department of our local dime store.

I made my first quilt when I was 16 and my wedding dress at 18. I loved making clothes for my kids but my passion for the creative process is what really got me hooked on quilting.

In 1991, life took a different direction and I became a single mother, working full-time and returning to college. Due to

time constraints, my sewing machine was packed away for about 8 years but I always dreamed of quilting. A few years later I remarried and with the kids grown, I yearned for the quiet life of a small town. Our 2001 move to Sisters changed my dreams to reality.

I love piecing, but the quilting of a quilt has always been my fascination. When I first learned of longarm machines, I knew I’d found my niche. Quilting has given me many rewards, the best of which are my customers and friends. I’m truly blessed to live in this wonderful community full of talented quilters and artists.

My passion for quilting is what keeps me learning and growing. Each customer and every quilt brings a new friend and the opportunity to learn something new!

Thanks Mom…your support, encouragement and compliments over the years have meant more than you know!
